Meet The Team

Zach Barricklow is an award-winning entrepreneur and strategist whose work spans twenty years across Fortune 500 consulting, international development, non-profit, and higher education.  Zach has a degree in management and philosophy from Hope College, and is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in organizational change at the University of Southern California.  Zach is passionate about equitable community economic development. He is an advocate for leveraging education, employer partnerships, and entrepreneurship as tools to foster inclusive wealth.         

Kate brings 20 years’ experience in the administrative, training, and education fields. As director of student life at the University of South Carolina Beaufort for nearly 12 years, she advised students, trained them, unofficially counseled them, and mentored them as they grew into young adults. Since 2017, Kate has worked in the “Gig Economy,” as a virtual assistant. This has included project management in education, and both the non- and for-profit sectors. Her projects have included work in e-commerce, writing, editing, and maximizing efficiency for small businesses. She holds a Master of Education in college counseling and student affairs practice from the University of Delaware and a Bachelor of Art in art history from Ithaca College. Kate is energetic, passionate, and considers her work with NC Tech Paths a “heart project.” Providing education access to people in rural areas has been a focus for most of her professional career. The weaving of access to technology careers and learning is a natural fit for Kate.

Doren likes to say he is a social chameleon, or a jack of all trades ready and willing to accomplish any job. He is overjoyed when he can use his talents to better the community! He originally called Mexico home for over 18 years, traveled, and lived throughout Europe and USA, then settled in Oklahoma City for a while, but is now a super grateful member of the Wilkesboro, NC community. If you were to grab a coffee with him, he’d talk about his amazing wife and three girls, traveling, and all things business and branding. He’s owned multiple branding companies, worked in construction marketing and management (and put in time doing actual labor), and worked in the non-profit sector in operations, teaching, and technology for many years. His experiences make for a unique approach to work and cultural inclusion for everything he does – and he is always thinking out of the box on how to help the community or empower others to do so.

LeClair Boone, a former 15-year educator, made the career transition into tech through a Software Engineering Program by one of our partners, Per Scholas. LeClair has Master’s Degrees in Educational Leadership and Spanish, several years of business experience, and has found her niche in technical curriculum alignment to lay the groundwork for establishing a solid pipeline of technical talent.  LeClair is passionate about introducing youth and adults to careers in technology and strengthening technical education connections from pre-K to industry. ​

Jonah Greene has been a filmmaker and editor for over 10 years. It began as a hobby when he was just a child, but his talent turned into something more.   This artist is an Alleghany County native. A graduate of Alleghany High School, he learned in traditional classes, as well as through hundreds of hours of research conducted on his own time. He has experience in fields including animation, motion graphics, video editing, cinematography, graphic design, and creative writing. Jonah doesn’t just know how to make brilliant content, either. He knows how to share it too, having built his social media profile up to over 300k followers! You can find some of Jonah’s work on our YouTube Channel

Caitlin brings 15-years of experience in the North Carolina High Country, and is a veteran of several non- and for-profits. She earned the Duke Nonprofit Management Certificate and has found a new love for this nonprofit focused in the world of tech.

Caitlin grew up in Charlotte, but earned her BS in sociology, with a concentration in family development, from App State in Boone – and simply didn’t leave! She adores the Northwest NC location and plans to raise her family here!

Caitlin is passionate about connecting people. Her first instinct in all situations is to connect people and programs that will improve their overall quality of life. She is very active in the Wilkes/Ashe/Alleghany area, and has extensive experience, having successfully built relationships with parents, staff, and supporting students in need!
